The “Killers” and the “Slaughtered lambs” in the stock market kcchongnz

Author:   |    Publish date:

A couple of days ago, I wrote an article about FA, TA and BS in the link below,

https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kcchongnz/147403.jsp

In the above article, I attempt to explain the two common methods of investing using fundamental analysis (FA) and Technical analysis (TA), and touch on the contemporary BS. I still do not know what that BS actually mean, and how it was applied in a consistent and predictable manner. I am still waiting for a satisfactory response, best in an article, in details by the proponents.

Thanks for all the comments in my article, including the greatest follower of BS as below with a third of the total 47 comments from him,

[Posted by stockmanmy > Feb 15, 2018 12:11 AM | Report Abuse https://cdn1.i3investor.com/cm/icon/trans16.gif

makes a killing when right
does not get killed when wrong.

can the talk well chap do that?]

Thank you very much, for at least he praised me as “talk well”. That motivates me again to do a little rebuke on his comments.

The above comment gives us another glimpse of what this fuzzy BS as propagated by him, in his own words, is;

To make killings”

“Do not get killed

The above statement exposes the clear and presence of people making “killings” in the stock market, and there were many people “got killed” by them. The commenter obviously worships those who make “killings” in the stock market as if they are stock God.

Who are those making the “killings”, and who got “killed”?

The “killers”

Killer Whale (Orcinus Orca)

In Bursa, the market players are made up of about 80% institutional investors and 20% retail investors like you and me. Obviously, we can’t be the “killers”. The institutional investors, the syndicates, manipulators with vast financial resources are ones who can force stock prices to move with sheer buying power. Once they find a company with some fundamentals, but more important friendly parties, and some stories about the company to tell, they secretly buy up stocks low. The sheer buying with tens and hundreds of millions would move up stock price many folds. Once they owned most of the outstanding shares, they would need to find someone to sell to make a “killing”. Manipulators would start spinning on their heels and spread good news, rumours and hints, or even outright misleading information about the company. They would even hint on the use of margin so that others have more money to buy their stocks at higher and higher price.

The slaughtered lambs

Varese, Italy, old decoration of the baptistery

Obviously, those being “killed” or badly injured are those newbies and inexperience retail players who know nothing about investing, but speculate and gamble in the stock market, the patsy.

https://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kcchongnz/127246.jsp

These people think making money is so easy in the stock market by just listening to rumours and that there are tooth fairies in the stock market helping them to make money, effortlessly.

It is a human nature to be greedy and want to get rich quick, and those in the “kill” know it, and capitalized on it. These people noticed there heavy trading volume in the stock from the fast and heavy buying of the manipulators. They started to follow the theory of the greater fool and chased the stock when they are promoted, obviously near or close to their peaks, because of the fear of losing out (FOLO).

Think, think and think; how could manipulators make money if you make money? How could they “kill” if you are not “killed”? Money falling from the sky?

Hence, eventually many naïve and inexperienced market players got “killed”, or badly injured. Most, if not all, of these “killings” were very quick, occurring over a few weeks or a few months. It has seldom take more than a year.

Is making a lot of money from the stock market by “killing” others a noble, or even a socially commendable act?

Does one really need to “kill” others in the stock market in order to live a reasonable comfortable life?

Is “killing” to be very rich is a good BS?

Your response to the above questions are highly appreciated.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous Chinese New year.

KC Chong (ckc13invest@gmail.com)

On the second day of Chines New Year

Its knowledge, decisive and bravery.....The personality traits that make the difference.

People....like KCChong and OTB talk about stock selection. I want to talk about the personality traits that make one a successful investor....it is knowledge, decisive and bravery.

stockmanmy,

Please note that you do not have any record to show that you are very good in your investment. You have lost badly in Sendai.

You had competed against OTB, you lost badly.
Hence you have no right to attack OTB. Likewise to KCChongnz.

arv18 To my mind, 'Killers' in Bursa are counters like XINQUAN and CSL.

I think KYY was heavily promoting one of them.

Even attended an AGM - 'chuckle' - super investor?

Those shareholders were slaughtered.

soojinhou I absolutely agree with you stocknanny. That's why I propose building a temple in Jelapang dedicated to the almighty stock god kyy. Since stock god rained gold on you, why don't we go 50-50 on the cost of the temple. In the future, devout followers of the god above all gods can worship the almighty together. And stock god will excrete gold on all of us faithfuls.

Margin is a high risk tool which I personally do not advocate.
Learned a lot from your sharing. No one is ever too old to learn.

Does one really need to “kill” others in the stock market in order to live a reasonable comfortable life?
That is the nature of capitalism. Money is never enough. Even wealthy families fight over inheritance discrepancies. There are Research Analysts working in cahoots with owners, CFOs. Everyone is fighting their own battles.
19/02/2018 11:30
arv18 SharehlderOppressio

I disagree with your assertion that you can blame others for your own stupid stock purchase.

The idea that KC is selling that "stock promoter" are "killers" is a bunch of BS.

If you open a CDS account, then the onus is on you to allocate money.

If you buy based on your friend or a blog post, then it is YOUR doing.

DON'T go accusing others for your own foolishness.

Concepts like Due Diligence & Caveat Emptor need to be learned/internalised. Very often the Hard Way!
19/02/2018 11:44
soojinhou arv18, yes and no. Pump and dump operation is illegal anywhere in the world. That's why John Soh is now being prosecuted for the collapse of Asiasons, Blumont and LionGold. It's not about accusing others for their own foolishness, it is about whether stock god's modus operandi is legal or illegal. If it's just a simple caveat emptor, John Soh would be sitting in a mansion sipping long island ice tea instead of rotting in a jail with bail rejected even before his case goes to court.
19/02/2018 13:26
arv18 listen mate, the Asiasons, Blumont and LionGold case is outright fraud.

how do you define "pump & dump"? What piece of SC legislation are you referring to?

If I see value and buy, and tell others, and they buy, is that "pump & dump"?

Isn;t that what all the sell-side analyst in banks are doing?

Come now. What you are saying is pump & dump - what a certain "super investor" is doing, is NOT illegal.

Anyway, why are you worrying about John Soh, or any such persons? Aren't you busy enough with your own investments? Why all this moral posturing? My "Warren Buffet" is Holier than thou "Carl Ichan".

Please lah, Spare us this grandstanding. All the various market players, whether big, banks, syndicates, promoters, retailers etc MAKE the market and contribute liquidity.

We need to focus on improving liquidity in Bursa, so things like:

1) Protecting Minority Shareholders

2) Changing the 25% free float requirement

3) Prosecuting directors like those of XinQuan

THESE are the things we as investors need to fight for. Not Haranguing & Nagging folks and Arguing amongst each other about who is a "super investor" or not.

Its downright childish.
19/02/2018 15:21
arv18 soojinhou ... the way you say it as if the entirety of Bursa is scammers & fraudsters.

I really, highly doubt the level is quite as bad as China, HK or the US of A.

Our market is just not as liquid to attract the Glengarry Glen Ross (movie) or Boiler Room types.
19/02/2018 15:49
soojinhou Bursa has it's fair share of scandals no? On the contrary, the purpose of a pump and dump operation is precisely to create volume for low capitalised stocks. If a market it deep and the stock is well capitalised, like Apple for example, it would take a fortune to manipulate the share price. Bluemont, Asiasons and LionGold are all penny stocks before they are manipulated to high heavens, it is only possible because these stocks have limited liquidity.
19/02/2018 16:16
soojinhou And you missed the point completely. The question isn't whether Malaysian scandals are more or less than other bourses. The question is whether what stock god does constitute a criminal offense.
19/02/2018 16:19
arv18 if you're referring to KYY style of stock promotion, there isn't anything illegal.

as far as I can tell.

please quote relevant SC legislation if you think otherwise.

PlsGiveBonus Changing the Rules of Money

In 1971, President Richard Nixon changed the rules of money: Without the approval of Congress, he severed the U.S. dollar’s relationship with gold. He made this unilateral de- cision during a quietly held two-day meeting on Minot Island in Maine, without consulting his State Department or the in- ternational monetary system.

President Nixon changed the rules because foreign coun- tries being paid in U.S. dollars grew skeptical when the U.S. Treasury was printing more and more money to cover our debts, and they began exchanging their dollars directly for gold in earnest, depleting most of the U.S. gold reserves. The vault was being emptied because the government was import- ing more than it was exporting and because of the costly Viet- nam War. As our economy grew, we were also importing more and more oil.

In everyday terms, America was going bankrupt. We were spending more than we earned. The United States could not pay its bills—as long as our bills were to be paid in gold. By freeing the dollar from gold, and making it illegal to directly exchange dollars for gold, Nixon created a way for the United States to print its way out of debt.

In 1971, the world’s rules of money were changed and the biggest economic boom in the history of the world began. The boom continued as long as the world accepted our funny money, money backed by nothing but a promise by U.S. tax- payers to pay the bills of the United States.

Thanks to Nixon’s change in the rules of money, inflation took off. The party was on. As more and more money was printed each decade, the value of the dollar decreased and the prices of goods and assets went up. Even middle-class Americans became millionaires as home prices kept climbing. They received credit cards in the mail. Money was flowing

freely. To pay off their credit cards, people used their homes as ATMs. After all, houses always went up in value, right?

Blinded by greed and easy credit, however, many people either didn’t see or ignored the dire warning signs such a sys- tem created.

In 2007, a new term crept into our vocabulary: subprime borrower—a person who borrowed money to buy a house he could not afford. At first, people thought the problem of subprime borrowers was limited to poor, financially foolish individuals who dreamed of owning their own home. Or they thought it was limited to speculators trying to make a quick buck—flippers. Even Republican presidential candidate John McCain did not take the crisis seriously in late 2008, trying to reassure everyone by saying, “The fundamentals of our eco- nomy are strong.”

Around the same time, another word crept into our daily conversation: bailout—saving our biggest banks from the same problems that faced subprime borrowers: too much debt and not enough cash. As the financial crisis spread, millions of people lost their jobs, their homes, their savings, their col- lege funds, and their retirement funds. Those who so far have not lost anything are afraid they might be next. Even states felt the pinch: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger began talking about issuing IOUs instead of paychecks for government lawmakers because California, one of the biggest economies in the world, was going broke.

As 2009 began, the world looked to a newly elected pres- ident, Barack Obama, for salvation

PlsGiveBonus New Rule of Money #1: Money is knowledge. Today, traditional assets do not make you rich or financially secure. You can lose money on businesses, real estate, stocks, bonds, commodities, and even gold. Knowledge makes you rich and a lack of knowledge makes you poor. In this brave new world, it is your knowledge that is the new money.

Part Two is about increasing your financial knowledge.

New Rule of Money #2: Learn how to use debt. After 1971, the U.S. dollar switched from being an asset to being a liability—debt. Debt exploded because the banks could cre- ate more money by creating more debt. Our current subprime mess was caused by subprime borrowers and subprime banks. Obviously, both the poor and the rich need to learn to use debt better.

Debt is not bad. Misuse of debt is bad. Debt can make you rich, and debt can make you poor. If you want to get ahead financially, you need to learn to use debt, not abuse it.

Part Two is about learning how to use good debt to make your life richer and to position yourself to be financially se- cure.

New Rule of Money #3: Learn to control cash flow.

After the dollar became debt, the name of the game was get- ting you and me into debt. When you are in debt, your cash flows from you to others. Today, many people are in finan- cial trouble because they have too much cash flowing out of their pockets and very little money flowing into their pockets. If you are going to be financially secure, you need to learn to have more cash flowing into your pockets.

Part Two of this book will be about taking control of your cash flow, both going in and going out.

New Rule of Money #4: Prepare for bad times and you will only know good times. The last depression made my rich dad very rich and made my poor dad very poor. One dad saw the depression as an opportunity, and the other saw it as a crisis.

My generation, the baby boomers, has only known good times. Many are not prepared for the bad times. I am doing well today because I began preparing for bad times over twenty years ago. By preparing for bad times, I do well in good times.

Part Two is about you doing well in bad times, and doing even better in good times.

New Rule of Money #5: The need for speed. Money evolved from barter to digital money as the world’s financial system picked up speed. Today, slow people are left behind. A well-positioned person can transact business 24/7. Rather than making money by the month, people can make money by the second.

Bluemont, Asiasons and LionGold are all penny stocks before they are manipulated to high heavens, it is only possible because these stocks have limited liquidity.---

So you, want a perfect market where all stocks have perfect liquidity and everyone presents their biometric eye for ID before buying and selling a stock, so that out masters, CIMB, SC, Public Bank and the Government can track every and all purchase to make sure our soul is clean and our intentions pure, with no deceit, so that one day, we may become a market like NASDAQ, or NYSE, where no stock is left behind, with perfect levels of liquidity, and no one ever get cheated.

Oh wait...
19/02/2018 19:49

Apabagus Soojinhou,if you are so sure what Kyy did was share manipulation,go to SC and present your case.SC would be more than happy to charge Kyy since he is pakatan supporter. If however it was just your fickle imagination and you cannot provide any concrete evidence, you should know what to do.
19/02/2018 20:09
Apabagus Furthermore, you get ready to face defamation charges by Kyy.
19/02/2018 20:16
Apabagus If Kyy could post someone's ic here at i3 before, who would dare challenge the idea he would not bring defamation charges against anyone.
19/02/2018 20:20
arv18 I am no KYY, bonecythe, Stock Aliiance, Kim SW supporter, but I do have to admit they are successful, and can move markets.

But writing articles or Telegram groups pushing stocks is NOT against the law.

They present a case to buy. They aren't holding a gun to your head.

Its up to each person to make up their mind. To each his own.

I can't stand the moralising & virtue signalling. Look @ meeee! I only buy stocks Based on Warren Buffet & Benjamin Graham or Greenblat, therefore I'm the HOLIEST investor with the most moral kind heart and therefore all stocks will fly to the sky...

conveniently forgetting that WB et al had funds continuously flowing into his vehicle Berkshire hataway vis his insurance co & investors constantly throwing money at him which he pumped back into his stock holding, over many years, AND loved doing buybacks to pump up and BACKSTOP Berkshire shares. Yes, Warren Buffet, the great Ponzi master.

Just like what KWSP, Public Mutual et al is doing. Identify a counter worthy of investing, then pump million, if not billions in. Anyone wonder why Public Bank shares never drop?

How to be a successful investor 101: - Ensure funds coming into your investment vehicles NEVER dry up!
19/02/2018 20:30
rchi aiyooo, this is bursa jungle, only the fittest survive....why blame this one and that one...this is all part of the game since time immemorial...did Kyy point a gun at anyone's head to buy his stocks...

me too frequently hentam the shit out of anyone who complain about my calls...first,i din point a gun at their head to follow me...second,i dun collect fees...third,they dun share their profit with me.
19/02/2018 20:41
soojinhou Well I'm not going to waste time debating about share manipulation. Kyy has a bulls eye marked behind his head, and may soon be charged for tax evasion. Since the stock god loves to proclaim to the world the greatness of his wisdom, he's most welcomed to leave ample evidence for prosecution, should the authorities sees it fit to nail his balls to the wall. And yes I'm a 10 year old wanker sitting in front of my pc worshipping the almighty stock god.
19/02/2018 21:22
soojinhou I lost nothing from stock god's pump and dump so no I won't file a complaint. But I did file a complaint against kyy violating non disclosure rules after crossing the 5% threshold. Well it worked didn't it? Nowadays he obediently disclose all his purchases and sales for stocks he's a significant investor. So those who feel they are victimised should take it up with the authorities.
19/02/2018 21:31
arv18 Really can't fathom why you and other have such a hard-on for KYY.
He's not going to stop doing what he does to help you out.

So you carry on, write articles on Fundamental Analysis etc.

But one thing you might want to learn from KYY is how to book a profit.

KC ain't going to tell you how, because he doesn't seem to have a clue.
What about cutting losses KC?
