Reason	MUFG is deemed interested in the shares of AEON CO (M) BHD ("Company") held by the Morgan Stanley Group by virtue of:- MUFG's holding more than 20% interest in shares of Morgan Stanley Group. Pursuant to Section 6A(4)(c) of the Companies Act 1965, MUFG was deemed interested in the shares of the Company held by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC ("Aberdeen") (and its subsidiaries) as MUFG's wholly owned subsidiaries, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp, holds more than 15% in Aberdeen. As at 31 January 2017, Aberdeen and its subsidiaries hold 265,662,300 shares of the Company. By virtue of the coming into force of the Companies Act 2016 on 31 January 2017, pursuant to Section 8(4)(c) of the Companies Act 2016, MUFG is no longer deemed interested in the shares of the Company in which Aberdeen has an interest as Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corp does not hold 20% or more in Aberdeen. As a result, MUFG ceases to be deemed a substantial shareholder of the Company.
