Patrick13 Seems like Kimlun is looking good on Johor future prospects.
Establish 3 new subsidiaries: Kii Morris S/B, Kii Ashbury S/B and Kiiville S/B and buy 3 new lands so far in this month. Of course it won't give quick return in recent years. This is talking about 5-10 year investment. Currently Kimlun almost completed on-hand property projects (eg. The Hyve and Pekan Nanas).

Patrick13 Kimlun Corporation, a Malaysian construction and engineering firm, said Friday it plans to buy 47 plots of vacant land and 30 houses for a combined 68.41 million ringgit ($17.65 million).

The company plans to carry out enhancements on the houses, and build bungalow units on the land if the proposed acquisition goes through, Kimlun said in an exchange filing. The properties, located in Shah Alam, Selangor, have a combined land area of 81,854 square meters, it said.

The proposed acquisition provides an opportunity to increase the size of its land bank in strategic location in order to enhance its future revenue and earnings, Kimlun said. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of first quarter of 2020, it added.

live168 Below today comments from Kenanga Research & Investment to share.....

With the new PH government reviewing and terminating major infra projects, Kenanga view this as less favourable for KIMLUN as they were gunning to participate in these mega rail projects, i.e. MRT3 (terminated), HSR (terminated) and ECRL (review) either in the construction packages or precast supply packages. Kenanga also foresee more contractors competing within a shrinking pie given the lack of major infra jobs. In view of this, Kenanga reduces their (i) FY18/19E construction replenishment target for KIMLUN to RM700m (from RM1.0b), and (ii) FY18/19E manufacturing replenishment target for KIMLUN to RM120m/150m (from RM300m)...

Patrick13 The Board of Directors of Kimlun Corporation Berhad (“KIMLUN" or "the Company”) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPC Industries Sdn Bhd had accepted the letter of award from M+W Singapore Pte Ltd for the supply and delivery of pre-cast concrete building components for Singapore Dollar 27.00 million ("the supply contract").

The supply and delivery of the components is expected to be completed by end of December 2018.

The Company does not foresee any exceptional risk other than operational risks associated with the supply contract.

The supply contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of KIMLUN Group for the financial year during the supply period.

None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the supply contract.

live168 That's no double that Kimlun has done well during Najib govt time but we may review their current threats and weaknesses under the new govt and business environment:-

Kimlun's main businesses in Construction & Properties where both sectors are under weight now. Their main business in Johor Iskandar Region and it is one of the worst over supply properties area in our country. Many housing developments has halt or delayed with only some minor housing infrastructure and maintenance projects going on such as housing drainage and road works, etc.

Kimlun has 1 mega project in Pan Borneo Highway but due to at their remote area (in East Malaysia), it creates management, cost and logistic issues. The PH govt may investigate this project soon and as Kimlun has track record in bribe case with ex-government official at IIB, we must always alert that any investigation may affect the confidence of investors.

Kimlun has purchased a number of lands during the property market peak time in last few year and mostly in Iskandar region, how are they going to develop it at cheaper and competitive price in this downturn market is unknown?

Despite they have precast IBS system but the contribution to the Group's profit is limited. In Malaysia, many highrise building and major infra projects have been taken by China contractors as they have better IBS skills, cheaper price, good payment terms and cheaper import skill workers and materials. Even Sunway Iskandar has adopted Japanese IBS system than using Kimlun IBS in fact.

In the policies of PH govt, SST is coming plus weak Malaysia Ringgit, Kimlun's profit in RM but materials buying in USD, plus minimum wages up to RM1,500 and reduce number of foreign workers, these are all the coming threats.

Finally look at Kimlun's share price and volume. Kimlun's share volume is very thin, if buying hard to earn more and if selling but no buyer to catch, it may fall hard. Now many big contractors' share price is similar or cheaper than Kimlun but with better diversity business, own trading house and materials, good cash flow and business expansion in many areas in the country such as Sunway, WCT, IJM or even Gamuda, So what's make Kimlun's share price is more attractive than them. After the healthy correction, obviously all this big counters' have better value attraction than Kimlun in term of their future growth and the safety net in not 100% on only construction and property.

Not to offense but this is purely for sharing from analyzing the facts, please correct me if I am wrong.... thanks

live168 Anywhere, trade at cautious and at own risks.

Construction is very sensitive to few key issues including increase of interest rate, high borrowing costs, depreciation of RM, increase of oil price, increase of material prices, increase of labour costs, tight of legal workers supply, slow demand in properties market and decrease government budgets in mega projects. It may good to stay at side way until the dusts settle down in this industry.
