verbatin1969just bought 50,000 YTL-LA @41.5 sen and 50,000@42 sen 1 week ago. Buying for the decent current yield of 3.67% (based on 42.5-42 sen) and waiting for the 1.32 conversion ratio to kick in from 7th-8th year onwards

tkt66YTLL-LA was traded at lelong price few days back (RM0.42) with annualized yield of 5.02% (until 13/10/2015), 5.29%(until 13/10/2018), 6.12%(until maturity date).
With this price and conversion ratio of 1.98 in next year, YTLL equivalent price is RM0.832 (excluding the interests received). It is cheaper than current YTLL price.
With this price and conversion ratio of 1.32 in 2019, YTLL equivalent price is RM0.554 (excluding the interests received). It is much cheaper than the recent 6.2% YTLL shares purchased by YTL corp at RM0.72.
HwangDBS report in 2013 indicated RNAV of YTLL is RM2.32 per share after full conversion of LA. The RNAV should be higher now.

tkt66Even with RM0.435, the annualized yield from now until 13/10/2015 is around 4.85% (BLR-2%); minus off the interest to be received of RM0.015, YTLL equivalent price is also RM0.832 in next year, It is still cheaper than current YTLL price. Don't forget, the yield is getting higher and higher for the next few years down the road.

ytlland-la's interest of 0.01125 just ex on 13 Oct 2016, total interest to be received in next 5 years = 0.135.

lai81533After maturity , this will automatically convert to loan stocks by filling the conversion form. Unlike warrants, upon maturity , this will be expired.
lai81533As long as u bot before ex date, u will be entitled for interest payments by the company. Let say if you bot 92400 units at rm0.49. Then your interest received will be 92400 units x rm0.0225/2=rm1,039.50 and interest yield return is rm0.0225/rm0.49=4.59% per year after u receiving two times interest payments from the company. This is better than FD.
