Myway The deal is very likely to go thru'. Remember that BPlant made the offer to Dutaland to buy. BPlant would not have made the offer to buy without some degree of certainty to close the deal. The timing of completion for BPlant land sales and the timing for Duta's SPA seem perfect.
26/09/2017 23:00
TheContrarian If deal goes thru no bumper dividend next QR.
26/09/2017 23:12
Yippy68 many has said on negative side, this one has some logic.thank you@investorA
27/09/2017 03:40
cpo_ Dutaland done deal? So dividend cut next?
27/09/2017 04:02
Myway CPO, you can take it as good as done.
In the last 6 months, I hear from many sources that BPlant talked to few others plantations owners to buy their plantations. They seem "very hungry" to acquire to increase their plantation size and 'invest" the proceed arising from the land disposal recently. Finally, they zero in to Duta plantations and approach Duta to buy.
27/09/2017 07:44
Subrie The acquisition will complete next year. Next 2Q will use IPO proceed and some of the malakoff fund to pay borrowing. we can see less interest expense for next 2 quarter.
27/09/2017 09:43
Albukhary Seriously, I feel that the deal with Dutaland will be on.

I have done some calculation, sharing here, hope it can benefit you guys.

Assume you are holding 30,000 BPLANT @ RM1.60 now, so your portfolio is RM48,000.

1) You should sell 10,000 Bplant at RM1.60, then you have RM16,000.

2) Use the RM16,000 to buy Dutaland at 60sen, then you will have 26,000 Dutaland.

Assume the deal is abort, Dutand land drop to 50sen, and Bplant go up to RM1.75.

So you still have 20,000 x RM1.75, plus 26000 x RM0.50 = RM48,000 (no change)

Assume the deal is on, Dutaland increase to 75sen, and Bplant drop to RM1.40.
So you still have 20,000 x RM1.40, plus 26000 x RM0.80 = RM48,8000 (gain RM800).

For me, Bplant is a dividend stock, no matter the deal is on or abort, the share price wont be fluctuate too much.

But Dutaland is different, if the deal on, the share price will anytime shoot to RM1.00. Even if it failed, maximum it drop back to RM0.45 only, because nowadays Dutaland is much much better than last time, it has cleared all its debts, and it owned many good property and land in KL and Sabah.
27/09/2017 17:28
straycats dutaland dropped more than usual fluctuations with increased volume. Any chance of cancellation?
28/09/2017 16:17
apolloang butaland no drop to 50cts yet for me to buy
28/09/2017 16:19
bennychen Why delay in announcing the deal is on or off....???
28/09/2017 17:02
apolloang cepat lah down to 50cts butaland, why cannot down one....hahaha
28/09/2017 17:04
Subrie Not delay la, you do not read the document properly. Its 30 days + 15 days.
29/09/2017 09:44
bennychen I meant after 30 days inspection should be able to decide to buy or decline the deal. No need to wait until the last days to announce. Why keep the deposit of RM15m with Dutaland if the deal is decline....
29/09/2017 10:36
Subrie correct but due diligence is not something that you buy normally. Once DD is over, you need to do all the modelling to calculate whether it is viable before deciding. might as well take all the time so you are comfortable with whatever that you will decide
29/09/2017 10:51
Gen2 Hope the deal is on, so that we can collect it at lower.
29/09/2017 12:45
Why_ drop today means Dutaland deal done? So B Plnt future dividend must cut?
29/09/2017 12:46
Gen2 I believe bplant is a cash cow for ltat, they have to maintain their superbly annual dividend rate of more than 10%!
29/09/2017 16:00
InvestorAnalyst Couldnt agree more. All boustead group give decent and good yield to shareholders except for bhic
29/09/2017 20:22
TheContrarian Dutaland is renewing its climb on high volume. Deal likely to go ahead, perhaps at lower price.
04/10/2017 15:25
apolloang NOOOOO I buy too little
04/10/2017 15:27
joetay @TheContrarian,,

if the deal goes thru, i think we will be expecting bplant to have increased planting expenses over the next few yrs while revenue will not likely see a marked increase.

do u think will have any cut in dividends????
04/10/2017 15:40
Angel of KLSE 大马股仙 don't buy swamp land! stupid!
04/10/2017 15:51
free2invest I think dividend will cut.
05/10/2017 09:10
TheContrarian Yes joetay, dividends not likely to be as generous as it used to be.
05/10/2017 09:45
joetay thx @TheContrarian.

seems like time to evaluate bplant as a dividend play.

i think if affin drops abit more, maybe can consider buying.
05/10/2017 09:55
OSU1964 Hi All , is 30 days +15 days is based on calendar day or working day?
05/10/2017 10:43
adamsmith based on holiday
05/10/2017 10:45
TheContrarian In the past Bplant was at times paying a higher dividend than its EPS. This was obviously too generous and they are now trying to cap the dividends within their earnings. Also, a big portion of their earnings have been gains on disposal of lands.
05/10/2017 13:53
TheContrarian Deal with Dutaland will proceed at RM750 million.
06/10/2017 17:31
Gen2 Yes, can collect it at low price.
06/10/2017 19:20
Yippy68 still have 30 days to sign up SPA..will there be an EGM?
07/10/2017 02:52
Myway BPlant has sent in an OFFICIAL OFFER to buy (no more a proposal). Once Dutaland confirm acceptance of the offer, the deal is considered fixed and no way out! Now it is only about preparing the SPA for both party to sign.
07/10/2017 04:26
Myway Better sell Bplant before too late. Very low earning from Bplant existing operations despite broad based recovery of yield for the industry and higher CPO price. Hopeless Management.

Worst still, the windfall proceed from recent land disposal will be used to buy a poor yielding plantation with low return. BPlant will have to spent huge capital to rehabilitate the Duta's plantations and to replant mostly very old palms.
07/10/2017 04:33
Yippy68 they confirmed an EGM, please attend.
07/10/2017 10:29
Yippy68 the deal result is as expected and bplant has stay steady at ipo price, many could has sold but some think it is a good deal.. the land after survey actually found better condition than what they offered to IOI. many years ago. IOI may be wanted it back. A piece of land sold RM820 millions , after so many years, it is not appreciated but been press cheaper, Now I think bplant management did a good deal after talking to their staff..i will buy if fall lower, this quarter dividend will not be affected ..next year may be...
07/10/2017 12:22
Yippy68 just sold a piece of land at discounted price, Dutaland price jump, if bplant sell their land in Semenyih, Kulai, malakof and Pegerang, the price will reach the moon.
07/10/2017 12:26
TheContrarian Dutaland shares prior to the sale was trading at deep discount, so it's natural for price to jump.
07/10/2017 12:29
Yippy68 the four piece of prime lands i mentioned is only 7 % of bplant land bank, it can be sold at about 3 to 4 billions. issued capital 0nly 2.56 billions.. how about the other 93% add 30000acres just bought.. dutaland is now landless.
07/10/2017 12:37
ILoveReit Hi, may I know how many acres of land that bplant having now?
07/10/2017 13:16
Yippy68 200000 acres added 30000 if deal not cancel like IOI. cancelled before SPA sign.

I will sell all my duta share if gap up and buy back BPLANT if drop more than 5 Sen.
07/10/2017 14:03
Yippy68 year 2011, IOI offered RM 830 millions ie 27,177 per acres to buy the land and deal failed.

year 2017, Bplant offered RM 750 millions ie 25,908 per acres to buy the same but slightly smaller land...Deal is on.

dutaland engaged experts from local and oversea, spending millions to improved the land, after 6 years, the land now with better condition, is sold to bplant at a further discounted price..it was not disclosed how much they have thrown in in 6 six years.

my own land appreciated 300% in 6 years, but dutaland land depreciated almost 5% in six years.

this deal is on, who win who actually lose, you know better.
As the staff told me, we bought it after a big discount because one wanted quick sale and one is cash rich to bargain .We have a palm oil plantation and a mill near by to handle , .we have the staff ready there to take over, ..the situation is like someone bought a shop next to his at a price 10% higher than market value because it is next to it. this case, a discount from market value....well done management....realized all this facts.., i agreed it is a good buy.
08/10/2017 14:22
Myway Duta plantation's valuation is lower then before is because most of the palms are very old now and due for re-planting (during re-planting 3 years no revenue and high expenditure and another 3 years very low revenue). The land are leasehold and is shorter lease now than before.

Good buy or not for BPlant, you have to look at earning from this asset. I take is - it is a bad buy for short term due to poor return from this $750 mil investment. In the longer term - it all depend on CPO price then.
08/10/2017 21:06
Yippy68 respect those who felt it is a bad buy,, may be they have sold all their share even earlier. and now we shall see how the market react.on Monday.
09/10/2017 01:43
ILoveReit Thank you Yippy.
09/10/2017 04:39
Yippy68 bplant buying a piece of land by cash, should not be a big issue. like Sime Derby bought land at Papua New Guiness, no issue. when you find land depreciated after six years, that is an issue. Malakoff appreciated hundreds of % in four years, another portion waiting to pocket another hundred of millions, no issue. ..with good business sense, the newly purchased 30000 acres in good hand now will sure appreciate in another 6 years, price will appreciate , not depreciate. so, a long term investor should wait for big return in future. mean time collect your good dividend in coming quarter in November. .
09/10/2017 07:08
Danny Lee Agreed 100%with Yippy68. The land is below market value in Sabah. Good buy for mid to long investors.
09/10/2017 16:45
Myway If you buy for long term view, pls don't buy now. The financial market globally looks very very choppy in 6-12 months. Major pullback in global stock market may be in store.
You can afford to wait for a while to decide buying ... BPlant won't disappear anyway..
10/10/2017 07:16
Danny Lee I think it is ok to buy this shares now because it has solid growth records coupled with good dividends. Much better then keeping your money in FDs unless you want to exit the equity market altogether. The more worrying factor is the potential war looming between the US n North Korea. Anyway, if it does occur, shares will fall across the board.
10/10/2017 10:11
yesAH yes ah...very clever ah
