RVI123 I remember when Danny did the restructuring on Tropicana in 2013, he mentioned that the structuring was good for the minorities and Tropicana because he could full heartedly concentrate on Tropicana after injecting all his private assets. He said it would benefit Tropicana in the long run.

origins Unfortunately he lied to the market and all the shareholders.
After the restructuring he ventured off to acquire his land banks under his private vehicles with the intention of developing them.
After stepping down and resigning from Tropicana he is now planning to make a comeback to lie to the market and all the shareholders with another round of excuses.
How can anyone believe him after all this? Must be one of Malaysia's greatest lying tycoons.
Who is going to believe him when he owns swathes of land all over the country.
Here is one such example:

RVI123 @origins, thanks for the link. Very obvious and clear that he still owns a lot of landbank privately.

origins It is very obvious and clear that he is still developing privately. All you have to do is call the sales hotline for Tropicana Cenang. The sales gallery is also open for walk ins at Langkawi island. I am very sure Danny is behind this project thats why its called Tropicana Cenang. The logo is also a 100% match to other Tropicana projects.
If the authorities can be bothered to do some digging they will find out who are behind the proxy shareholders in Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd.

RVI123 @origins, I am surprised to read about Tropicana Cenang. I think the project is not under Tropicana Corporation Berhad. Tropicana Corporation Berhad is the marketing agent and I believe they are paid a certain percentage of commissions for the properties sold.
05/04/2018 23:05
origins Who do you think is behind Tropicana Cenang or Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd?
It would be none other than Danny. Tropicana Corporation Bhd is probably being used as a project manager and marketing agent for his private projects.

Lee Richard Write a commenLee Richard I guess Trust is everything.,, theses days many companies includes Berjaya had lost trust and reputation despite the Director still make can millions. ..but history told us you lost trust.., you lost everything..,see Sunreit price is higher than few years back and still paying 6% dividend.., Hope Berjaya and Tropicana mgt understand Trust is everything..,See Berjaya"s brother Tropicna NAV at 2.10 but its share price is only 0.80 ... Indicate the Value of TRUST is lacking.....see Capitaland Singapore doing well and keep growing based on foundation of honesty and Trust.., I remember while working on KL Sentral Suasana Condo., project ., Due to 1997 Asia Financial Crisis., most project delayed in completion., hence Developer need to honour LD payment to purchaser but I told Capitaland director how Meranti Park in Bukit Berjaya did..,pay less 6 months due to Govt support and deduct from maintenance bill and paying voucher.. I was blasted by Capitaland director .., Capitaland director decided to honour 100% LD and even 10% rental guarantee scheme despite only 6% achieved..,Today Capitaland KL Sentral project and the rest doing so well and Berjaya hill still struggling...,

origins Can confirm this guy is joining Tropicana. He left Hap Seng to join Lion Group.
He just resigned from Lion and is now joining Tropicana. Banker told me that he was asked to leave by Tan Sri William Cheng personally for being incompetent and could not even finish his probation period.
A professional katak jumping from job to job. Don’t think he will last long in Tropicana.
This is how kataks make their money. Same in politics as well as corporate.

Ridiculously overpaid with no track record to justify the package below.

luckyman It's a matter of time for it to divest W Hotel to realize the profit & cash flow for the group to further degear itself.

No point working hard to develop its land bank when no one believes in property sector & counters at this juncture... the counter simply could not move up despite pretty good profits reported in the last 2 years notwithsatnding the challenging property environment...no one appreciated the company's financial performance......

enid888 Tropicana's business model needs a lot of capital. Tropicana is building a few properties for investment purpose. However, the investors like to see immediate profits and this is also a reason that Tropicana share price is lagging behind its net book values. Tropicana is building Tropicana Gardens Mall, 3 primary and secondary schools and 2 hotels as investment properties. I agree that Tropicana should sell off the hotel and even the shopping mall to release their values. This will further reduce its gearing. Another option is to inject the investment properties into a REIT.

enid888 The new government will use some measures to help the Rakyat to own houses especially in the affordable sector. Currently, the distribution of EPF A/C 1 and A/C 2 is 70% and 30%. If the new government can change it to 60% and 40%. That will help the potential buyers a lot. Many of the prospective buyers who are at the border line will become eligible to get bank loans. The demand for residential properties will increase a lot.
