Jon Choivo Time to buy.

If we assume that supermax can make 100mil in profit this year, considering it made more than 100m in the last 4 years. Its trading at 13-14PE. With most of the new plants and contact lens business etc not yet kicking in.

Ill just hold. I wont buy too much more as there is alot of good companies in the KLSE. But this one is definitely worth holding say 5-10% of portfolio in.

wiki123 Just to give a maths calculation and comparison:- St shine optical revenue = RM0.9 bil for 250mil pcs per year. Net profit = 34% = RM230mil. For Supermax, now yearly production is 70mil pcs, that will be 28% of St Shine optical taiwan. So which means it could be RM64 mil profit per year. Even if we count very conservatively by half the profit/revenue, it could mean RM32mil profit per year. That would mean RM8 mil per quarter. This can change once they introduce more higher value product mix, think easily RM10mil per quarter can be achieved...
07/06/2017 16:54
wiki123 Another way to look at is - Lets just say the product mix is 90% 1 day, and 10% weekly/monthly, then we get RM1 profit for 1 day type and RM3 profit for weekly/monthly, this will come to easily RM70mil profit per year for 70mil pcs which could amount to RM17mil per quarter extra profit from this business... so this is still quite substantial... P/S daily is sold as 30pcs for same price as weekly/monthly which is 6pcs....

ProStockbroker this lapsap stock is just like a dog following people while other flying, but always cant chase after them. I am still having paper loss. I can buy topglove at 4.8 and you can see how much topglove worth now. Even I am a shareholder and I wont buy their stupid contact lens. If supermax wants to make me lose money in share, I will make supermax lose in market share for contact lens. Pukima pui!

carilembu Start-up Losses

Supermax reported yet another disappointing quarterly results despite the improving outlook for the Rubber Gloves sector. Although 3Q revenue rose a strong 30% qoq, core net profit fell 13% on a combination of a margin squeeze in the Glove division and ongoing start-up losses in its Contact Lens division, which is still in the nascent growth phase. With the lack of visible capacity growth coupled with the drag from the Contact Lens division, Supermax’s earnings growth is likely to stay tepid in the near term. HOLD.
08/06/2017 12:07
carilembu Maintain HOLD; TP Unchanged at RM1.90

While the Rubber Gloves sector continues to exhibit resilient volume growth momentum owing to the rebalancing of sector dynamics, we believe Supermax has yet to position itself to capture the earnings upcycle with its lack of visible capacity expansion. The lack of disclosure for its Contact Lens division also makes it difficult to decipher the financial viability of the new business stream. We lower our earnings forecasts by 5%-17% for FY17-19 on lower margin assumptions due to higher-thanexpected start-up losses. However, our TP is unchanged at RM1.90 as we rolled forward our investment horizon to CY18E on an unchanged target PER of 13x.

09/06/2017 11:47
David Ng The company decides not to breakdown the revenue and results in the last quarterly report and that makes it difficult to know the progress of the plants and contact lens business (after investing over than 100M)...

Think, if the contact lens business have been contributing positively now, do you think you can buy this at the current price ?
If this company is without hiccups for the past 2-3 years, do you think you can buy it now at Rm2.0x ?
It's a potential turnaround company with a upside earning catalyst if they can make the contact lens business right.
