PETALING JAYA: With PKR turning 25 this year, the party is looking forward to sharing its political journey with the public during a carnival on May 11, says Nurul Izzah Anwar.

The PKR vice-president said the carnival will be a one-day affair where party members and the public will get to participate in various activities while watching performances by local singers.

Nurul Izzah said the party is expecting over 10,000 visitors during the “Keadilan 25 Years Carnival” next week at Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur, which will be open from 9am to 10pm.

The one-day event, she said, will feature performances by local buskers and singers such as Aisha Retno and Kaka Azraff, with a special appearance by Datuk Zainal Abidin.

She added that the carnival will feature various popular local brands showcasing their products, while the public will also be able to participate in activities such as traditional folk games.“We will open mobile counters with the cooperation of government agencies to assist the public with their affairs.

“This will include counters to pay fines, identity card applications, halal certificate-related matters, and many others,” she said.

Nurul Izzah said this during a press conference at the PKR headquarters here yesterday. Also present was Subang MP Wong Chen.

She said in addition to exhibitions and forums, the carnival will also include a variety of content about the founding and history of PKR.

“This party’s history is filled with street tests and challenges, culminating in PKR’s involvement in the federal administration.

“These will be presented in the form of exhibitions, forum discourses, and other content during the carnival,” she said.

Aside from highlighting its history, Nurul Izzah said PKR will use the carnival as a platform to show its gratitude to party members, especially those who have been part of its struggle since its inception in 1998.

“For PKR members and supporters, a dinner event will be held from 6.30pm to 10pm at the same location to celebrate the sacrifices and support shown by them over the years,” she said.
