PUTRAJAYA: The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry has expressed desire to work with Media Prima Bhd after seeing the potential of its Karnival Jom Heboh in promoting entrepreneurship.

Its Deputy Minister Datuk R. Ramanan said the carnival had helped promote local entrepreneurs in marketing their products.

"I will bring this up with the ministry for discussion and hopefully, we can partner with Jom Heboh organiser Media Prima.

"This is a good platform to expose our entrepreneurs and enable them to promote their products," he said after visiting the Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) at Precinct 3 here today.

He said the ministry could also offer its entrepreneurship services and assistance to the public at the carnival, including financing and grants through the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun), Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), SME Corporation Malaysia and SME Bank.

Ramanan also spent some time visiting the booths and distributing food packets sponsored by local spice manufacturer Baba's to visitors at the carnival.

Baba's had prepared 12,000 food packets to be distributed throughout the three-day carnival, which ends today.

Present were Media Prima chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid and New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd group managing editor and Berita Harian group editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman.

Various food and beverage stalls were available, as well as products and services offered by exhibitors, with various activities were held at the NSTP booth in KJH, including lucky draws.

Visitors were also entertained by a host of artistes and celebrities at the Konsert Jom Heboh, which starts at 9pm over the weekend.
