HULU SELANGOR: No instructions were ever issued for Pakatan Harapan machinery to include the King’s photo as part of the coalition’s Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election campaign, says Ng Sze Han (pic).

The Pakatan election director for the by-election also lambasted the move, saying it was irresponsible and should not have been done.

“We are aware that the police are conducting an investigation, and we are ready to cooperate fully,” he said in a statement Monday (May 6).

This comes after two individuals were arrested after allegedly driving a car with a photo of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, together with political party flags in the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain later said the two men will be charged at a Kuala Kubu Baharu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

He added that the charges would be brought under Section 4A(1) of the Election Offences Act 1954 for malicious intent.
