KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has asked Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin to repent and stop telling lies about the former.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Umno president denied what Hamzah said about the appointments related to party posts.

"He (Hamzah) had said that I offered the post of Umno secretary-general if he had supported me to become Umno president back in 2018.

"I would like to tell him, there was no such offer. Please repent, and do not do this. During elections and by-elections, he does this.

"I have known him since we were young. He has been lying. Unfortunately, he has become the opposition leader. Enough is enough," Zahid said after chairing a coordination meeting a coordination meeting with the Rural and Regional Development Ministry and rural excos at a hotel here last night.

Zahid is Rural and Regional Development Minister.

Zahid explained that he received a video recording of this claim from Hamzah last night.

When talking about the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election tomorrow, Zahid hoped that victory would go to the unity government's candidate Pang Sok Tao.

Present at the event in Kota Kinabalu was state Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim.
