Tengku Dato Sri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz is the Group Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of CIMB. He is also the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of CIMB Bank Berhad and President Commissioner of PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk.
With over 23 years of experience in the financial services sector, specialising in Investment Banking and change management, Zafruls last position was with Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and Maybank Kim Eng Holdings as Chief Executive Officer. He also held senior positions in Citigroup Malaysia, Kenanga Holdings Berhad and Avenue Securities. He also experienced being an entrepreneur by setting up Tune Money Sdn Bhd, Asias first no-frills online financial service provider.
Zafrul is currently a member of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), representing Malaysia in promoting intra-trade and collaboration within Asia Pacific. Further, as an advocate of Malaysias socioeconomic development, he currently sits on the Board of the National Sports Council of Malaysia, in addition to being a Trustee of the Perdana Leadership Foundation. He is also an Honorary Commander of the Navy Volunteer Reserve under the Royal Malaysian Navy.
