Alexandra Schaapveld started her career at ABN AMRO Bank in 1984 in corporate banking and subsequently in investment banking: equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. She has always been a strong advocate of client relations at the Bank. In 2001, she was made Senior Executive Vice President responsible for sector expertise and in 2004 she became the head of the global clients and investment banking units. After the acquisition of ABN AMRO Bank by a consortium of banks, she became head of Europe for Royal Bank of Scotland in 2008.
