Dato' Ir Hamzah started his career as a Civil Engineer in JKR. Dato' Ir Hamzah's service in JKR covered a span of 25 years, rising to various leading posts and served in the States of Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu and JKR Headquarters. In 1995, Dato' Ir Hamzah joined KLIA Berhad as the Construction Director prior to joining Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad ("AZRB") Group in 1998.
