Investment Bloggers Day 2019

Author:   |    Publish date:

Year 2018 has been a challenging year for most of the traders due to the weak equity market sentiment. This phenomena is driven by the uncertainties arising from some events such as trade war between China and US and GE14. However, the stock market’s sentiment is recovering since the beginning of year 2019. One of the reasons is due to the positive outcome from the latest agreement made between China and US to improve the tense atmosphere caused by trade war. This symbolizes a new hope for traders to start investing in stocks actively in the brand new year.

Many people might be wondering what will be the market trend in year 2019? Here is a good news for everyone, as you can get the chance to meet the famous investment bloggers with thousands of followers in the coming Investment Bloggers Day soon! This event is the first event that is co-organized by I3investor and ShareInvestor Malaysia. It aims to provide an opportunity for retail investors to meet and listen to their investing idols sharing their investment ideas to enhance their investment strategy for the year 2019.

3iii Munger and Buffett share a similar investment philosophy. In short, they buy great companies trading for discounts to their intrinsic value. The focus here is on high-quality businesses:

“A great business at a fair price is superior to a fair business at a great price.”

Often, the stock market irrationally discounts companies based on short-term factors, such as geopolitical events, rising interest rates and other macro-economic factors. Buffett and Munger try to buy these undervalued stocks when the market does not appreciate their long-term potential.

Great businesses, according to Munger, are those that have durable competitive advantages, and highly profitable business models. Munger particularly likes businesses that do not require a great deal of reinvestment in order to grow. In addition, investors should focus on investments that are not overly complicated. Sometimes, the best long-term businesses operate in industries that do not experience rapid change.

In addition, investors should carefully consider a company’s management team. Even great businesses can be brought to ruin by incompetent managers. Investors should favor companies that do not require geniuses in the executive suite to be run effectively.

Now that investors have selected great businesses with strong management teams, the next best thing they can do is be patient.

(US/CHN trade war doesn't matter) Philip To be honest I think they priced it too low. If you used the mental model exclusivity and social proof, if you charge rm10 people will not come BECAUSE they assume the value of the event is just rm10, therefore not worth going for.

If they charged the event as rm1000(with a discount from rm5000), I believe many more people will come, because they will believe that they will be getting an education or service that is worth rm5000 for only rm1000.

And the hosts can up the quality and give an event with paying rm1000 for.

Its like attending your children concert, it if it's rm5 you probably won't go. Buy if it is rm100, you die die also must go.

(US/CHN trade war doesn't matter) Philip If anyone is attending, just for fun help me goreng slee having on his INSAS by asking him these questions:

How much is numoni generating and earning? How much they bought it for?
How much is sengenics revenue and earnings? How much they bought it for?
What is management reasoning in buying dgsb with money generated from selling INARI shares? Dgsb just had bad quarter this year, should INSAS invest more into dgsb and be associate?
What is management reasoning in selling INARI shares with it's consistent dividend every quarter? What purpose is there in killing their golden goose? What are they buying with that capital?

Thank you.

P.s if can be more blunt, ask them wtf happened with that Mongolian vigcash thing? Who invested in that Mongolian?

Thanks.
I heard he is having lunch with INSAS CEO at the gardens later today. Hope for some concrete answers. I can deploy 10% of INSAS market cap to invest long term if the answers are satisfactory.

Sslee Dear all,
My response to quack, quack,quack.
Dear quack, quack, quack,
Go and attend JAKS AGM and PLP ALP and see whether he will throw some crumb to you.
No one going to miss you if you just disappear from i3. (Perhaps KCChong will miss you, “Who I am going to bash after you're gone???”) Or who care “btw, i would rather spend my 10 ringgit on a ramly double ayam special and a can of coke or a burger king double.” Spend your 10 ringgit in whatever way you like. (For all it worth you can get a quick blow job by “ramly double ayam special or burger queer double” at Bukit Bintang backline with 10 ringgit).

We at the Investment Bloggers Day 2019 will have a great time meeting each other, building friendships and networking. My Speaking slot from 4:15pm to 4:45pm most likely the last speaker and I hope to bring the event to its climax end.

Thank you

Sslee Dear Philip,
Good try, I admit I can never able to shake off a persistent 500lb gorilla from my back so I relent:
Refer: http://www.insas.net/pdf/img-20181226.pdf

Sengenics.
The issued and paid up share capital of Sengenics Corporation Pte Ltd is USD 953,000 and its unaudited shareholders’ funds as at 30 September 2018 is USD 4,498,000.
The gross revenue for the 9 months period ended 30 September 2018 is USD 1,600,000 and it incurred a loss of USD 1,700,000.
Sengenic has a patented proteomics technology and it has signed licensing and collaboration agreements with some of the top pharmaceutical companies in the world.
The equity structure of Sengenics includes:
• Dr Arif, Dr Jonathan Blackburn, Mr Johan Iskandar (Promoters) 60.6%
• INSAS 17.4 %
• SBI Islamic Funds (Brunei) 13%
• Hanns Ventures 9%

Numoni: The gross revenue of Numoni for the FY 31th December 2017 is S$ 1.3 million and it incurred a loss of S$ 3.3 million

INSAS hold effective equity of 42.6 %.

https://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/staticfile/335076.jsp
Read the annual report and see can found anything compelling on 5G future roll out.

As of reasoning in selling INARI shares? Take profit. Taking profit is not a dirty word as Mr. Koon likes to say “No share can go up or come down continuously for whatever reason” Sold Inari on the high and bought back Inari at the low. Advice you to do so too with your QL. (Sell high and buy bacl at lower cost to you)

Many of above business is associate companies of INSAS and Yes INSAS incurred burn rate in trying their hand in building new business venture. IT/telecommunication services light in capital but huge in potential. Some may failed and closed down but if you only stay in your comfort zone than INSAS will never founded INARI.

Hope the above can satisfied you and now get off my back it is so tire to carry a 500lb gorilla.

Thank you
P/S: I borrow from PureBULL, “Chia sk was so super sharp! he said, my son is with mckinsey & Co, the shoalin.temple of strategic mgmt, only the top in IVY league n or Oxbridge talents can get in !” and for INSAS I quote Dato’ Sri Thong daughter, “Ms. Thong was appointed as Head of Global Treasury and Corporate Planning of Insas Berhad on 1 July 2012. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College. She has had 5 years of equity capital markets experience having worked at Credit Suisse in New York from 2004 to 2006, and Deutsche Bank from 2006 to 2009 at their New York, Hong Kong and Singapore offices. She subsequently joined the corporate finance team in Genting Hong Kong from 2009 to mid-2012.” So she is the master of “Tai Chi” using minimum force to exert maximum impact. Spending small capital money to nurture another Inari and listed it in Bursa.
01/03/2019 8:17 PM
Sslee Dear all,
I hope to do justice to INSAS by presenting INSAS in a way that is fair, accurate and shows its true qualities and value. I will be there to share my knowledge on what is FA, TA, Business sense, intrinsic value and the important of reading annual report. I am taking my responsibility seriously and will use INSAS Annual report: Profit and loss statement, Balance sheet, Cash flow and intrinsic value calculation to emphasis my point.

I will then promote shareholders activism: Shareholder activism is not a privilege - it is a right and a responsibility. When we invest in a company, we own part of that company and we are partly responsible for how that company progresses. If we believe there is something going wrong with the company, then we, as shareholders, must become active and vocal- Mark Mobius.

A lot of people lose his life saving and some even commit suicide because of insider con job/scam. The conman/scammer get away with murder because good man do nothing until when the victim is his own family member or close friends then only they regret not doing something to stop or expose the scam.

We as minority shareholders are perfectly capable and able to stop it before it happen if we just care to attend AGM ask the hard questions and hold the BOD and external auditor accountable. Follow up and report any irregularities/red flags to SC/Bursa. (Me too is a victim of Xingquan)

calvintaneng Yes SSLee is Chun Chun about Insas

Insas has an adventurous leadership. The burn rate insas took on trying new ventures finally unearthed a gem in Inari

It is better to try and fail rather than do nothing like so many managements

Insas is still an inspiring work in progress

besos Should blame on Bursa/SC(and govn as well) for allowing too many companies to be listed that later banks short it.
02/03/2019 3:48 AM
Sslee Dear besos
I and Mr. Koon are planning to call an EGM on Xingquan, unfortunately the Chinaman get news of it and purposely did not report the quarterly report and got Xingquan suspended from Bursa and hence no EGM or AGM.

Thank you

3iii Sslee

One of the important thing as an investor is to know what NOT to invest in.

You seem to be entangled with so many gruesome companies, the number of them seems incredible for a single investor.

Also, the smarter thing when you are in a leaking boat (in investing) is to jump to a better boat.

You seriously need to re-examine your investing philosophy and strategy.

Quoting Charlie Munger:

"Show me the place I am going to die at; I will avoid going there."
02/03/2019 8:34 AM
Sslee Dear 3iii,
I am going to die in my sleeping bed so should I avoid going to bed?

Thank you
02/03/2019 8:49 AM
3iii Of course, Charlie was referring to investing, in his humorous way.
