Datuk Krishnan was a Fellow of the Accountants (CPA Australia) and Graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School.

Datuk Krishnan had served the Board for over six years since his appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 3 December 2007 and subsequently, as Senior Independant Non-Executive Director on 16 March 2010. He was also the Audit Committee Chairman and Member of Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee.

Datuk Krishnan was a past President of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) and a Committee member of PEMUDAH. Datuk Krishnan was also a Director of the Malaysian Alliance of Corporate Directors.

Prior to that he was Managing Director of Land & General Berhad from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2007. He was also the Executive Director of Antah Holdings Berhad from April 1990 to 31 October 2000. Datuk Krishnan started his career at ICI Malaysia Sdn Bhd (ICI) and was apointed Director of ICI as well as that of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad in 1984. He was the Managing Director of ICI Fertilizers Malaysia Sdn Bhd and ICI Industrial Chemicals Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Executive Director of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad. Datuk Krishnan was also the Council Member of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers(FMM).
