He started his career as an Administrative Officer, Chief Minister’s Department, Sabah Branch in 1974 and was subsequently appointed as District Officer, Kudat in 1977. In 1980, he was transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as Permanent Secretary. In 1984, he served as Secretary of Internal Affairs & Research before being posted as Director of State’s Public Service Department in 1994. Subsequently, he moved on to serve as the Deputy State Secretary in 1996 before assuming his present position as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance.
