Appointed to the Board of SURIA on 10 December 1996. A banker by profession, he has over 37 years of experience in the banking and finance field of which 25 years were with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Beginning this career with BNM in 1959, he spent a major part of his service with BNM in the Bank Examination Department . He rose in the ranks to reach the posts of Manager, Internal Audit Department. He left BNM in 1984 to join a licensed finance company as its General Manager. After a spell of about 5 years he decided to move from the finance company industry to the banking industry. In April 1990, he joined an established local bank as the General Manager of the bank's Credit Division, a position he held until his retirement in June 1996.
