He also holds a Master in Economics from University of Vanderbilt, USA and a Doctor of Philosophy from University Pertanian Malaysia.
Working Experience
His career in the Malaysian Civil Service spanned over 30 years. He started as the Assistant Secretary of the Economic Division in the Ministry of Finance, rising to the position of State Financial Officer of Penang in 1993. Amongst other positions held was as Director for Bumiputra Participation Division, Prime Minister's Department, Penang, Director General of Tourism Malaysia and Deputy Secretary General (Financial and Development) Ministry of Education. He retired in year 2005 as the Secretary General, Ministry of Information, Malaysia.
