En. Adnan bin Zainol graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the Universiti Malaya. He started his career with Malayan Banking Bhd. (Maybank) as an operation officer and later as a credit/securities officer in the KL Main Office. After 5 years with Maybank, he left in 1983 to join CIMB as a credit/marketing officer in the Corporate Banking Department where he rose to the rank of Senior Manager in 1994. From 2000 until he left CIMB in 2004, he was heading its Credit Administration Section. He was previously an Independent Non-Executive Director of Orion IXL Berhad from 2007 to 2018. He is currently the Independent Non-Executive Chairman of QES Group Berhad.
