Mona Suraya binti Kamaruddin had garnered a wide range of experience prior to her appointment as a Director at Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad. 

She started her career as an Investment Analyst with Arab-Malaysian Securities Sdn Bhd. She quickly moved on to become a Senior Investment Analyst, first with Standard Chartered Securities, and later on at Crosby Securities (Malaysia) before being appointed Head of Research at MGI Securities Sdn Bhd.

She then left to rejoin Arab-Malaysian Securities Sdn Bhd as a Senior Manager for Institutional Sales before deciding to join the globally renown JP Morgan Securities (M) Sdn Bhd.

Prior to the appointment of her directorship here, she was holding the position of Managing Director, Head of Equities at Nomura Securities Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Economics) in Accounting (Hons) from the University College of Wales Aberystwyth, Mona Suraya has advanced to Stage 3 of her CIMA professional qualification at Emile Woolf College.
