Working Experience
Presently, he is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Terengganu Incorporated Sdn. Bhd. (TI) , a wholly-owned strategic investment holding company for the State of Terengganu. He joined TI in May 2015 on invitation by the State of Terengganu to enhance the roles of TI in addition to delivering commercial and sustainable return of investments.

Prior to joining TI, he was the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the second position in command with Export-Import Bank Malaysia Berhad (Exim). In Exim, he was tasked to oversee the Bank's operational functions including credit administration, finance and treasury, information technology, human capital management, research and advisory, product development, special asset management and strategic planning, while indirectly he was also entrusted to provide guidance and direction on the development of Islamic Banking and Credit Takaful for the Bank.

Encik Wan Zalizan has long standing career of 15 years with Maybank Group in which he held various management positions within the Group. They include Head of Strategic Management (Maybank Islamic), Head of Strategic Planning (Maybank International), Head of Business Development (Maybank Finance) and Head of Programme Management Officer for Maybank Group Consumer Banking Transformation Project. In 2010, he was seconded to the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) of Prime Minister's Department, representing Maybank in the financial services sector lab in delivering the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), a strategic blueprint to help propelling Malaysia towards becoming a high-income and developed nation by 2020.

He took a 2-year break from banking sector to be involved in the transformation and privatization of Pos Malaysia Berhad in 2006 and subsequently , became the pioneer team to establish Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) , the Federal agency responsible for transforming Iskandar Malaysia into a metropolis of an international standing in 2007
