Diploma in Public Admin from Institute Teknologi MARA Diploma in Police Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Certificate in Sustainable Leadership from Wolfson College, University of Cambridge United Kingdom.
Dato'Sri Wira Ayub joined the Royal Malaysia Police in 1977. In 1978, he was stationed in Pulau Pinang as an Officer responsible for the Crime Investigation Department. He was appointed as a Coach of the Police Training Center in Negeri Sembilan and subssequently was appointed as a Development Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as logistic/Finance Department, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. He was then promoted to the Superintendent of Police. From 2000 to 2005, Dato' Sri Wira Ayub was promoted to the Assistant Commissioner of Police and served as Aide de Camp (ADC) to His Majesty The Yang Di Pertuan Agong. He was then attended and successfully completed a program in the aspect of Community Policing at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. He was then served as the Chief of Police in the state of Melaka and Terengganu. In 2008, he was promoted to the chief of the Police Department in Pulau Pinang. In 2012, Dato' Sri Wira Ayub was appointed as the Chairman in NKRA Secretariat of Criminal investigation Department in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur and was subsequently promoted to the Commissioner of Police. In the following year, he was appointed as First Director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department. Dato' Sri Wira Ayub retired from the position of Commisioner in 2014 and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees, Yayasan Pengaman of Malaysia and Police Corporative of the Royal Malaysia Police
