University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Economics degree in Business Administration

Mdm Mahani has more than 27 years of working experience in the banking industry. She began her career at Bank Negara Malaysia in 1977 where she held various positions in reserves management. She served as Section Head, Export Credit Refinancing Facilities before joining RHB Bank Singapore in 1984 as Head of Asian Currency Unit, Treasury.  Between 1993 to 2001 she was the Deputy Branch Manager of RHB Singapore Main Branch and Head of Consumer and Electronic Banking of RHB Bank Singapore.  She then returned to RHB Head office in Kuala Lumpur in 2001 and held various senior management positions including Head of Premium Banking, Consumer Division, Head of International Division, Executive Vice President of Operations and Services Division and as a Transitional Management Committee Member from 2003 to 2004, where she assumed the duties of the banks CEO during a transition period of one year pending appointment of new CEO.   

Mdm Mahani is currently a director of several private limited companies.
