Working Experience
YM Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy started his career as a foreign exchange analyst with NCR UK Limited and later, joined Svenska Handelsbanken, London as a Risk Analyst. He then joined Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd in 1990 and thereafter was cross posted to Shell New Zealand Ltd in 1991. In 1997, he joined an investment holding company, Wira Security Holdings Sdn Bhd as Executive Director and later attached to Tajo Bhd as Chief Executive Officer. In 2000, Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as Executive Director, Corporate Finance.
In 2002, he was appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Engen Limited, an integrated oil company in South Africa, a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas). He was appointed as Non-Executive Director of Energy Africa Limited until January 2004 and was a member of the Board of Governors of the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA). Tunku Dato’ Mahmood Fawzy left Engen in June 2005 and thereafter became the Chief Executive Officer of a shipping company until December, 2006.
He joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad in May 2007 and retired as Executive Director, Investments in May 2010. He was previously on the board of Ethos Capital One Sdn Bhd and LP Advisory Committee (LPAC) of Ancora Opportunities Fund (Indonesia) and relinquished both the positions when he retired from Khazanah. He was previously a Director of Pos Malaysia Berhad and resigned in June 2011 after serving for four years.
