He was Plantation Director (Peninsula Malaysia) of IOI Corporation Berhad from 2001 to 2003. He has been closely involved in professional activities in the plantation industry and holds fellowships from the Incorporated Society of Planters, Malaysian Society of Soil Science and Malaysian Oil Scientists’ and Technologists’ Association.
