YB Prof. Dr. P. Ramasamy obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Indiana, USA in year 1977, Master in Political Science from University of McGill in year 1980, Canada and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science from University Malay, Malaysia in year 1980.
Working Experience
Since March 2008, YB Prof. Dr. P.Ramasamy has been serving as Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang State. He also served as Member of Parliament, Batu Kawan Parliamentary Constituency, Malaysia and Member of State Assembly, Perai Constituency, Penang State.

Before his political career, YB Prof. Dr. P. Ramasamy was a Professor of Political at National University Malaysia in year 1981 until year 2005 and from year 2006 to year 2008, he served as Visiting Senior Research Fellow in Institute of South East Asian Studies, Singapore.
