He graduated from Monash University, Australia, with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and later obtained a Master in Business Administraion (MBA) from the university of Strathclyde, Scotland in 2007.

He was appointed as an Executive Director of the Group in 2007 and also the Deputy Managing Director, assisting the Managing Director in the business operations of Hartalega. He began his career in the industiral boiler sector and subsequently brought in-depth knowledge of green energy technology into Hartalega. He then spearheaded the implementation of the sector's first empty oil palm fruit bunch biomass energy plant in 2004 and was instrumental in leading the plant to a successful registration with the United nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (Kyoto Protocol) in 2007, enabling Hartalega to sell emission reduction credits. THroughout his career in Hartalega, he has led capacity expansion projects that have not only increased production capacity by seven fold but also accomplished several sector's unprecedented engineering breakthroughs in production technology.
