Working Experience
He is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Downstream Business in Petroliam Nasional Berhad. Previously he has held positions of Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Risk, Vice President, Corporate Strategic Planning and Vice President, Oil Business (responsible for the refining, downstream marketing, global lubricant, crude and product trading businesses). He also had held various senior managerial positions in Petronas Gas Berhad, Engen Petroleum Limited, Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Asean Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn Bhd. He had spent the first 10 years of his career as a system/measurement engineer covering all aspects of engineering from design, construction, commissioning, technical services and operations. He was also responsible for training the technicians as part of getting them ready for operation of the Peninsular Gas Utilisation System.

He was an active participant, from being a member in the 1995, a director in 2002 to Steering Committee member in 2008 of PETRONAS Corporate Strategy Study; working closely with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and McKinsey. Among his noteworthy recent achievement was the acquisition of Progress Energy in Canada.

He is a member of PETRONAS Executive Committee, Management Committee and Talent Council. He chairs and sits on the Board of companies within PETRONAS Group and JV companies. He also serves as directors to MIGHT (Malaysia Industry - Government Group for High Technology) and MASSA (Malaysia South-South Association). He chairs the PETRONAS Group Risk Management Committee and PETRONAS Twin Towers Business Continuity Team. He had recently been appointed as a member of PETRONAS University of Technology (UTP) Industry Advisory Panel.

Given his passion in developing others, he actively contributed to capability development and the development of leaders within PETRONAS. He dedicates time and effort in training and coaching of others.
