Dato Mangsor joined the Royal Malaysian Police in 1973 as a Police Officer and retired with the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police in September 2006. His last post prior to retirement was the Chief of Police of Sabah. He is currently the Deputy President of the Retired Senior Police Officers Association, a Member of the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation of Malaysia, a Member of the discipline panel of the Persatuan Perkhidmatan Keselamatan Malaysia and sits on the Board of Directors of several private limited companies in Malaysia.
