Tan Sri Dato' Lee Kim Sai @ Lee Hoo was elected as Selangor State Assemblyman in 1974. During his appointment, he was also made State Executive Councillor in charge of housing. In 1982, he was elected as a Member of Parliament. He was appointed as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in June 1983. Subsequently, in 1985, he was appointed Minister of Labour and in 1987, he was appointed Minister of Housing and Local Government. He later served as Minister of Health from 1988 until he retired from Cabinet in May 1995. He was appointed to the Board of Metro Kajang Holdings Berhad on 8 June 1995.
