Dato Haji Rosly Bin Abas was a retired police officer with 40 years experience in intelligence field. He holds the last post as Deputy Director I of Malaysian Special Branch, experienced in leading the most establish intelligence agency in Malaysia. 

He started his career as an intelligent officer in Sabah from 1980 to 1985. He has extensive experience in Economic intelligence, Social intelligence, Political intelligence in Sabah, Pulau Pinang and Kedah from 1986 to 2004. He had been appointed as the Head of Special Branch of Perlis from 2004 to 2005 and subsequently as the Head of Special Branch of Pulau Pinang from 2005 to 2009. He had been promoted as the Principle Assistance Director of Research and Secretariat at Malaysian Special Branch, Bukit Aman Police Headquarters from 2013 to 2015.

He had been appointed as Principle Assistance Director of External Division from 2016 to February 2019, which was responsible in the country leadership role of bantering espionage and subversive activities. Proven success in this division, he had been appointed as Deputy Director II from March 2019 to July 2019 which later on promoted to his last post as Deputy Director I Malaysian Special Branch.
