Encik Mohd Shakir graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). 

Encik Mohd Shakir began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co as Auditor from 1997 to 2000. Then he served Harta Usahawan Sdn Bhd as Accountant until June 2001. He then stayed in Australia for a year and upon returning to Malaysia, he joined Baqir Hussain, Yeap & Associates in April 2003 as a freelance auditor for a month prior joining Khairuddin Hasyudeen & Razi as Audit Manager in May 2003 until now.
