Currently, Dr Abdul Latif is a businessman assisting his family business, primarily involved in property development.

He started his career in academia industry from 1985 until 1999.  He also wrote and published various articles ranging from financial reporting, auditing to accounting matters. 

From 2001 to 2009, Dr Abdul Latif held position as an independent director in two public listed companies that were involved in property development and building of sewage treatment plant.  He also held the position of Chairman of the Audit Committee in one of those public listed companies. Subsequently in 2007, he was redesignated to executive position in one of the public companies and was primarily responsible for the management and operations of the group before he retired from the corporate world in 2015.
