Working Experience
He began his career as a Construction Engineer with National Electricity Board ("NEB") (now known as Tenaga Nasional Berhad) in 1973. He left NEB in 1981 to join Arab-Malaysian Development Berhad ("AMDB") which he has held several senior positions including General Manager (Properties) from 1981 to 1988, General Manager (Textiles) from 1988 to 1990, Senior General Manager (Properties) between 1990 to 1993 and as an Executive Director of AMDB until 1995. Dato Azhar has a wide circle of business affiliations and has establised himself as a successful entrepreneur. His service to the country and industry was conferred the award of the title Dato in 1996 by the Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan.
