YBhg Dato’ Abdul Rani bin Mohd Razalli is a co-founder of KNM. He was appointed to the Board of KNM as Executive Chairman on 14 June 2003.

YBhg Dato’ Abdul Rani began his career with the Royal Customs and Excise Department of Malaysia as an Assistant Superintendent of Customs in 1953 and subsequently rose to the position of Deputy Director General of Customs, Malaysia until his retirement in 1985. During his tenure, he represented Malaysian Customs at the Permanent Technical Committee of the Customs Cooperation Council in Brussels, Belgium and continued to represent Malaysia in the Asean Working Group on customs matters until 1995.

Following his retirement in 1985, YBhg Dato’ Abdul Rani ventured into freight forwarding, shipping agencies and manufacturing businesses before establishing an investment holding company in 1987 called Inter Merger Sdn Bhd. Through this company, he co-founded the KNM Group in 1990.
