He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1967, Master in Education Degree from the Pennsylvania State University, USA in 1972, PhD in Educational Administration from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in 1979 and Post Doctoral Special Auditor from Harvard University, USA in 1984.
Working Experience
He began his career as a teacher with the Ministry of Education in 1961. He was the Senior Assistant of Sekolah Abdullah Munshi in Penang in 1968 and was promoted to Principal in 1969. He was the Dean of Educational Studies in Universiti Sains Malaysia from 1979 to 1992 and also Professor of Educational Administration in Universiti Sains Malaysia from 1988 to 1995.
