1980-1984:
Started career with JKR on the Kuantan-Segamat Highway in Bukit Ibam, Pahang. Involved in pavement design, operation of granite quarry and site pavement works. After 16 months, was transferred to JKR HQ Bridge Section as design engineer where he was tasked with design of numerous prestressed bridges, culverts and establising design standards until March 1984.

1984-1989:
Joined Ken Holdings Sdn. Bhd. as Project Manager in charge of several road, bridge and building projects over a span of five (5) years. Gained valuable experience in specialist ground improvement, slope stabilization and structural repair.

1989-1992:
Joined Dayapi Bhd (later Golden Plus Bhd) as Project Manager with responsibilities in leading a construction team in the Management, procurement and implementation of pavement construction projects.

1992-2007:
Joined the Road Builder Group in 1992 as Senior Project Manager (later Project Director) involved in leading a team to complete several large scale construction contracts and infrastruction development. Notable projects are the Bukit Tempurong stretch of the North South Highway in Perak, three (3) packages under Kuala Lumpur Privatisation highway, Putra LRT guideways and Sg Besi Highway.

In 1999, was appointed as an Executive Director in Road Builder (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Director to several subsidiaries within the Group. Responsible as Executive Director for the two (2) core business divisions of the Group, Contruction and Toll. During the period, was directly responsible for engineering, procurement and implementation of projects and the management of toll consession of highways.
