Working Experience
He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1992 and practised as a lawyer with Zaid Ibrahim & Co between 1994 to 1996 before moving to Singapore as a manager in the corporate finance/ investment banking division of Barclays de Zoete Wedd/BZW. He also worked for about 3 years with the AES Corporation Inc, an international power developer as a Director (business development) responsible for developing and financing two major power plants (810 MW) in Bangladesh. In 2001, he returned to Malaysia and joined Commerce International Merchant Bankers (CIMB) where he held senior positions within the Derivatives and Structured Products Group as well as the Equity Capital Markets Division. He left CIMB at the end of 2003.
