Working Experience
Started his career by joining the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of Goverment of Malaysia in April 1971, and was appointed as Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Transport. After four years at the Ministry of Transport he was awarded a scholarship to pursue graduate studies in United States, in 1975.
He returned to Malaysia in 1977 and was posted as Director of Air Transport in Department of Civil Aviation and in 1983 promoted to the post of Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation. When the airport was corporatised in November 1992, he opted to joint Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) as Executive Director untill he retired in April 2003. As Executive Director, he was responsible for the overall management and operation of the 37 airports managed by MAHB including the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Directorship of Public Companies
He was a member of Board of Directors of Malaysian Airports Holding Berhad, the holding company, and sat on the board of nine other subsidiaries companies. He was Chairman of two main subsidiary companies of MAHB namely Malaysian Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd , the Company that manages Kuala Lumpur International Airport("KLIA" and Malaysian Airports Sdn Bhd, the Company that manages all the 36 airports other than KLIA. He was also Chairman of Malaysia Airports Management and Technical Services, another subsidiary company, with its core business focused on the operations and maintenance of KLIA.
Dato' Adnan Bin Shamsuddin was appointed as Director of Nationwide Express Courier Services Berhad ("NECSB") on 7th July 2004 and Chairman of NECSB on 20th August 2004. He also serves the company as member of ESOS Committee.
