Dato' Iskandar Mizal bin Mahmood (“Dato’ Iskandar”) started his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. Kuala Lumpur in 1989 and thereafter served several leading financial institutions including Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad and Commerce International Merchant Bankers Berhad (now known as CIMB Group). From 1999 to 2003, Dato’ Iskandar was attached to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad where he held several senior management positions and portfolios. In 2003, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board member of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (MTDC), Malaysia's integrated venture capital company. In 2005, Dato’ Iskandar moved on and became the founding CEO and Board member of Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp), the Malaysian Government's professional agency spearheading the development of the country's biotechnology industry. His passion towards developing quality and experiential higher education methodologies in Malaysia then led him to partner with a reknowned education services group from India, Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd to set up Manipal Education Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MEM) in July 2011 whereby Dato’ Iskandar was made the Managing Director and CEO of MEM. On 1 July 2013, Dato’ Iskandar was appointed Group Director at DRB-HICOM Berhad.
