Madam Mary Ann Harris holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) from University of Malaya in 1992. She obtained Master of Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaya and Doctorate of Business Administration from Universiti Sains Malaysia in year 1999 and 2008 respectively. She also obtained Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University in 2008 and Certified Hospitality Administrator from American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) in 2011.
Working Experience
She started her career with Arthur Andersen & Co. (now known as Ernst & Young) from 1992 until 1995. She then worked as Assistant Financial Controller with Sheraton Penang Hotel for seven months before joining The City Bayview Hotel, Langkawi as Financial Controller from 1996 until 1998. She then joined Holiday Inn Kuantan and Holiday Inn Sungai Petani as Director of Finance and Business Support until 2000. Subsequently, she was appointed as Financial Controller in Parkroyal Penang in April 2000 and then as Area Financial Controller based at Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur until May 2009. Thereafter, she worked as Pre-Opening and Opening Hotel Manager of Eastin Hotel Penang before promoted as General Manager in 2012.
