The Board of Directors are pleased to announce that HCB on 1st October 1999 has purchased its own shares through the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange of which the particulars are as follows:-

1) Description of shares purchased
Ordinary shares of RM1 each

2) Total number of shares purchased
31,000 shares

3) The purchase price ( highest & lowest paid)
The highest price and the lowest price: RM2.28 and RM2.25

4) Total consideration
RM71,090.95 (including brokerage commission, clearing house fee and stamp duty)

5) Treatment of shares
To retain all as treasury shares
