The price is back to pre-Covid 19 level. With current natural gas production more than double of 2019, you decide to buy or sell or bad-mouth the counter. Once re-financing is concluded very soon, expect a TP of 0.7 or even higher.

Hopefully Exxon exits and sells the business to either Sapura or Enquest. Sapura's production cost in Malaysian offshore is US$5/bbl, comparable to Saudi's onshore cost. Sapura uses US$35/bbl as internal budgeting, hence anything above US$35/bbl is good news. One of the options is callable perpetual bond for financing with PNB backing. Ex-Petronas bigwigs know what to do, just don't disturb them. |

Shale (light crude and natural gas) production mainly for US consumption, e.g. gasoline and jet fuel, heating. Also, US has started to export LNG aggressively under Trump and affecting Petronas' traditional Asian markets like Japan, Korea, etc and lowering LNG prices. Biden also promised to rejoin Paris Accord. Very bad news for shale players in Permian basin. US still needs heavy crude mainly from Saudi for other derivatives / industrial applications. MBS and Putin will be laughing away ... |
