Short-term rates to remain steady on BNM's operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain steady today on Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today's liquidity is estimated at RM34.41 billion in the conventional system and RM11.2 billion in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct three conventional money market tenders comprising RM3 billion for seven days and RM2 billion each for 14 days and 21 days respectively.

BNM will also conduct a RM2.1 billion Qard tender for seven to 14 days and a RM330 million reverse repo tender for 30 days.

At 4pm, it will conduct an up to RM27.7 billion in conventional overnight tender and RM9.1 billion Qard. - BERNAMA
