MyEG clarifies news on PLKS renewal service

KUALA LUMPUR: MY E.G. Services Bhd (MYEG) is unable to process applications for the renewal of temporary foreign worker permit (PLKS) if it has not been approved by the authorised officers from the immigration department.
A local English financial daily reported yesterday that MYEG was among the patch-on systems currently being reviewed by the government following numerous complaints on the services provided by the company, particularly the PKLS renewal online service.
The e-government service provider said it did not have the authority to approve the printing of any permit under the PLKS service.
"All online applications are routed by MYEG to the immigration department officers in the respective states for approval before the PLKS permits are printed and delivered," it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
The company also said a real-time status checking facility was readily available on its portal, where users can check the status of their applications.
"If approval is pending from the authorised officers of the immigration department, users will be notified to go there in person to resolve the outstanding issues, as per the approved standard operating procedure," it added.
