Can anyone enlighten me ... in the finanacial report, i saw the term,
Share of net profit of associates

is this from Andaman Hotel, but isn't Andaman Hotel a subsidiary?

the profit from associate refer to 20% stake in MSL properties which been sold last year,so going forward no more contribution from associate,Landmark owned 100% stake in The Andaman and Treasure Bay Bintan.

I still saw the "Share of net profit of associates" in 3Q17 (ended Sep17), may be the MSL sale was still not completed by then. And the sale should incurred 12.5m extraordinary gain, will monitor in the coming Q reports. ;-)

Today has more time to check on 3Q17, and found that, the disposal of MSL was completed on 15Aug, and inccueed one-off gain on disposal of RM4.54 million (this amount co-incidently approximately the PBT of the Q .... :D

In the coming Q, without the profit from MSL and one-off gain, could it still record profit? could the TBB loss reduced by the 100 tents canopi? let's see :-)

i am pretty sure losses will reduce significantly in coming 4th quarter,since year end was holiday season and TBB should benefited.i actually expect landmark return to black in 4th q but only with tiny profit,massive profit will only show up starting from 2nd half 2018 onward.

last year, landmarks issued private placement, @0.76 sen ... this was a perfect low price, by now, can earn 10% in half year :-)

But few months later the stock price dropped to 0.70.

That is almost 10 % below the placement price.

If you purchased at that price you would have bought at 10 % below the placement price.

You would have outwit the market.

After looking at 4Q17, my feeling is,although this is a potential stock, but the sake for recover is not the simple one.

Q4 was without profit sharing of 6.8m from MSL, as well as, one of gain of 4.54m, after factored these in, i found that Q4 had not much improvement from Q3, despite Q4 was a holidays occupied quarter. (may be the 100-tents canopy was already run in full strength from Q3 onwards) ;D

it needs new sources for the sake of recover, i read some interesting info.,

in Q3 report,
The Group will be launching its sales of the luxury villa residences at Chiva-Som Bintan in the 4th quarter of this year and the Board expects the sales will contribute significantly to the Group’s revenue and profits in the next financial year.

in Q4 report,
The Group has started the sales & marketing of the Chiva-Som Residences Bintan in early 2018. The Board expects the sales to contribute significantly to the Group’s revenue and profits in financial year 2018.

Let's see how this would contribute? is the take-up rate up to the expectation? :D

generally a disappointed quarter due to litigation cost totally wipe up The Andaman's profit,with marine life park will be launching at 2nd q and sales of chiva som bintan residences, the growth prospect remain intact,personally i will add more share if share price drop to below 80 cen.

may be the major shareholder entry price could serve as a reference :D

10 yrs ago, genting bot 30% @2.00 /per share (if i'm not mistaken), but don forget just last yr privte placement 10% @0.76 issued to "genting private" ;D

The famous two excuses :

1) Litigation loss in Indonesian Medan court for constuction problem few months ago
and now in Malaysian court for minimum wage issue in recent quarter.

What are the management and its lawyers doing ?
Any more coming ?

2} Writing off

The writing off is going to be perpetual and getting higher and higher


We should meet and question the management at the coming AGM in May .

you need to have Indonesia companies if you wish to buy a land in Indonesia. the subsi are for chivasom owners, the company will sell the companies to them if they purchase a villa, they mentioned it during the AGM before. some shareholders asked this before.

Tomorrow is the AGM.

Best to question the board about their risk management as the company was bleeding for the past 10 years or so.

Someone has took up Landmark Bhd as a case study of the company risk last year.

observed change in the property development cost under cash flow from operating activities:
It has been 20+ million for past few quarter, this quarter reduced to 5 million. Loss is also narrowed down, perhaps can observe few more quarter for certainty.
