CMMT under heavy selling pressure. Outlook are not as bright as before. Gurney Drive mall face direct competition from incoming Paragon Mall. SungeiWang face decrease traffic as MRT construction cause heavy traffic jam. The only bright spot is EastCoast Mall. Doubt any meaningful rebound in share price as future rental revision will be much lower compared with years before.

i think is still early to speculate the impact from Paragon. Further the retailers are mostly new. Both serving different market segment and both malls should in fact compliment to each other rather a direct head on competition.
Competition may happen If occupancy rate is low, but as Hunza said they already leased out 85% of retail space, year end hit 95%. So i dont think this is a zero sum game. The cake can still expand bigger. The population is growing, more shopping mall needed in future.

MRT constructions are just temporary as it will not go on forever. On positive side, it will bring more crowd to Sg Wang after completion next year.

that might take some time to materialise. tropicana city mall is not doing well. in fact its quite a lousy mall compared to all the others in klang valley

cmmt are experts in malls, dijaya had zero experience. TCM is strategically located, the cinemas are great - will improve with the new owner. hope they will change its name though, gets everyone confused with tropicana proper, location-wise.

根据媒体引述消息报道,大马凯德产托(CMMT,5180,主板产业信托股)有意收购Tropicana City Mall及同区内的一栋办公大楼。

传凯德产托觊觎

对于上述传言,分析员持观望态度,认为除非价格及回酬诱人,否则主力在零售商场的大马凯德产托或会考虑其他目标。

达证券研究分析员回应《南洋商报》询问时指出,在东海岸广场收购案后,大马凯德产托不断寻找具有升值潜质的房地产,公司并购焦点仍集中在零售商场,对办公大楼则兴趣不大。

他说,大马凯德产托有意收购丽阳机构旗下的商场及办公楼产业消息,确实让市场感到意外,因这样的组合并不符合该公司的收购条件。”

“据管理层透露,丽阳机构并无意将这两项资产分售,该公司希望将两项资产合并成一组合一起脱售。”

AMANAHRAYA TRUSTEES BERHAD and Employees Provident Fund Board are brithers. Their investment strategies are quite similar. That's why they keep acquired this share.

Should be ok! This one affected by propert counters but this counter different segment! Most generate malls revenue!

We refer to the announcement dated 23 August 2013 in relation to the Proposed Acquisition.

The Board of Directors of CapitaMalls Malaysia REIT Management Sdn. Bhd., manager of CMMT, wishes to announce that CMMT has decided not to pursue further with the Proposed Acquisition given that both parties are unable to mutually agree on the terms of the sale and purchase agreement.

This announcement is dated 29 October 2013.

tcm is a poorly-managed malls, it used to be filled with shops owned by the tan family, which have been closing one by one. good luck to whoever interested in buying it.
