Citi Bank Sees $60 Oil In 2021

Another major bank, Goldman Sachs, also sees prices hitting $60 a barrel and even more next year.

Goldman Sachs expects Brent Crude to reach $65 a barrel in the third quarter of 2021, although it could end the year lower, at $58 a barrel.

Many naysayers on oil price but the fact remains.
1. Need money to produce oil
2. Social distance means more petrol for cars, buy no jet fuel
3. Low price, shale oil kaput.
4. People get fed up with lockdowns. Very unlikely to have prolonged lockdown.
So oil shd gradually inch its way up.
Hibiscus plan to use CRPS to raise funds and at a covertion price of 66 cents is reassuring because we know that no rights issue is coming and the convertion will only happen if Hibiscus price goes above 66 cents ( a 27 % price increase from 52 cents )
Apa takut ?

This share drop from 70sen, later drop until 60sen, later on drop until 50sen, u just seem it keep dropping only, I don't know why they buy this share in the first place? Malaysia I guess only oil and gas dropping only, glove, electronic, and other sector shoot up to pre_covid long time ago already, some even exceed, what the hell?

Don't expect them, these two purpose is just want to keep oil low below 45, they just want shale oil to die completely. They just acting only.

The oil price need to be low to let Hibiscus complete the acquisition. Else the original owner won't sell the asset at low price which may be a good thing.

The stock market does not always react in accordance with the company announcements nowadays. Look at TG today... down near 8% despite highest profit recorded in Q4 with dividend declaration. ibiscus Petroleum jumped and tested the RM0.525 resistance level. With its RSI indicator pointing upwards coupled with higher low candle stick pattern, we think that there could be a technical breakout towards the short-term target price of RM0.545 followed by RM0.565. In this case, the downside support is marked at RM0.505, whereby traders may exit on a breach to avoid the risk of a further correction.once this news come out i will sell not buy

Oil rises 2%, reverses loses as OPEC+ addresses market weakness
Jessica Resnick-Ault

Nymex=>at $40.97 (+$0.81) (+2.02%) !
Brent=> at $43.30 (+$1.08) (+2.56%) !

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Oil prices rose more than 2% on Thursday, turning positive as OPEC and its allies said the producer group would crack down on countries that failed to comply with output cuts and planned to hold an extraordinary meeting in October if oil markets weaken further.
After falling early in the session amid bearish jobs numbers and a ramp up in Gulf of Mexico oil output following Hurricane Sally, crude benchmarks reversed course to gain on the day, bolstered by comments from OPEC.
"Although no amendments to the current supply-cut deal have been proposed by OPEC+ today, the producers group gave the impression that it does not sweep troubles under the carpet," said Rystad Energy's Head of Oil Markets, Bjornar Tonhaugen.
Brent oil futures extended gains to settle up $1.08 or 2.56% at $43.30 a barrel. U.S. crude futures settled higher by 81 cents, or 2.02% at $40.97 a barrel. Both contracts rose more than 4% on Wednesday.
The panel of major producers, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, did not recommend any changes to their current output reduction target of 7.7 million barrels per day (bpd), or around 8% of global demand, according to a draft press release and an internal report.
The panel pressed laggards such as Iraq, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates to cut more barrels to compensate for overproduction in May-July, while extending the compensation period from September to the end of December, according to three OPEC+ sources.
"They were coming down hard on the UAE," said Phil Flynn, senior analyst at Price Futures Group in New York. The expectation that output could fall as the UAE and others trim production bolstered prices, he said.
The OPEC news overshadowed the restart of U.S. offshore production after Hurricane Sally passed through the Gulf of Mexico and bearish U.S. economic news.
U.S. energy companies were starting to return crews to offshore oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico after Sally halted operations for five days, shutting down nearly 500,000 bpd of output.
Prices were also under pressure from the slow economic recovery from the pandemic.
Global coronavirus cases are expected to pass 30 million on Thursday, according to a Reuters tally.
The U.S. Labor Department's report showed the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell last week, but remained at extremely high levels as the labor market recovery shifts into low gear and consumer spending cools.
Even OPEC+ cautioned that the pandemic could continue to curb demand. An OPEC+ technical panel warned that a rise in coronavirus cases in some countries may curb oil demand despite signs of economic recovery and initial indications of a decline in oil stocks, according to an internal document seen by Reuters.

once the PP is on for the ICPS RM2.0Bil, they will have to push the price to 0.70 in order to get the conversion. Either way Hibiscus is on the way to be the biggest Malaysia Independent producer soon. That is for sure. Just like how Polo group subscribed the RM0.20/share PP in 2015/16.
Will achieve the 20,000 bopd target soon.

Oil & Gas - Energy Transition Amid Covid-19 Constraints

we maintain our crude oil price forecast at US$40–US$45/barrel for 2020, in line with Petronas’ nearterm view, and US$45–US$50/barrel for 2021. For comparison, the EIA’s Short-Term Outlook projects crude oil price at US$41/barrel for 2020 and US$50/barrel for 2021.

Oil price could recover to a base-case scenario of US$75/barrel in late 2022 from the curtailment of global oil production as demand gradually improve, which could set the next down cycle in 2023–024. However, a more volatile upcycle could mean over-US$90/barrel prices by mid-2022, followed by a more drastic collapse to US$30/barrel in 2024 from potential overinvestments.

Corporate action is likely with Exxon Mobil planning to divest assets in the UK, Germany, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia. Repsol and Petrofac also plan to exit Malaysia.
