I still feel Affin has greatest upside because it is so cheap now. A merger exercise will unlock its value. I don't buy for dividend or for safe reason, I buy laggards with huge upside potential. If LTAT were to give up control of Affin it wouldn't go on the cheap.

LTAT given only 1 sen dividend in 2018 to it pension fund (lowest in history) , many had lost confident on LTAT , if the management is with good business sense, Affin and Bplant can be a good choice. Bplant was good at the beginning, but someone has screwed it up.

BPlant still have good land on Peninsular Malaysia to unlock. Their mistake was to buy that piece of Sabah land from Dutaland. Do you know that land was offered to my client many years ago and we did an air survey and found the area underplanted. That's why I sold off my BPlant after the Sabah acquisition.

@ TheContrarian, you have made good decision, my mistake was i sold but keep some .At the time when you sold your share , i would have made a million in dividend and price appreciation if i did the same. but now it is hardly half, i bought 500 k share at 57 to average, i could have bought more but after seeing bad report, i sold all 500k for some small gain....If they are willing to cut lost and sell the Sabah land, this counter still good to invest. .Thank you sir for all your valuable info, it is a lesson to me.

Please don't call me sir, I am much younger than you. I still not able to withdraw my EPF, so I don't have a big position like you. I know you were in the top 30, I think you were in the top 10. The Sabah land would be hard to get rid of, no one wanted it for decades. It was surprising that BPlant bought it, management judgement was really bad. And probably they didn't do a proper diligence audit like IOI did many years earlier which they withdrew from the acquisition.

Its plantation theme now...a lot of plantation stock rebound almost 40% to 50% from the low...

With forecast better palm oil price next year...i think that plantation sector will have sustainable rally..

Profit or loss a bit hard to say. You can say CPO price increase, profit might increase. Don't forget about the interest the company need to pay for Sabah land acquisition. I think just KIV this stock until the Sabah land is planted with high yield planting materials.
If most fruit can fetch 27% OER, then most probably turnaround the company.
